Week 3

This week the workload has picked up extremely. We all find ourselves feeling behind no matter how many hours we put into a day. The days are getting shorter, almost too short. There is not enough time in the standard day to be able to review and absorb every bit of information we are presented. I now see what people were talking about when they said the semester flies. Yesterday we had our white coat ceremony. It was a nice event. We all received our white coats and were inducted into the medical community. They are supposed to post a link to view the recording of the ceremony that I will be sure to post here when I received it myself. After the ceremony there was a reception outside. There was a live steel drum band, the walkways lined with tiki torches, and a plethora of exotic foods. Mainly caribbean and Indian food, so to me thats exotic. The food was good I was surprised to find I enjoy the majority of the dishes that were served. To I woke up at my usual 7am and began to study. I have designated Sunday as my day to get in the water for a swim. There is a reef approximately 200 yards of the beach that a few of us swam out to today. We saw mostly small fish, starfish, and see urchins. The one really cool thing that I saw was a barracuda. It was about 18inches and striped. I am not sure what species of barracuda it was but it definitely looked like it could take a bite out of me. I could see its teeth as it swam around. But I was informed that the small ones do not bother you as long as you leave them alone. I have also been making an effort to take a run on the beach 3-4 times a week. Since I am situated on about a 1/4 mile long beach. I just run back and forth a few time. I use it as one of my few study breaks. As I said days here are becoming shorter and shorter. I will be home in no time at this pace. Until next time
